One of the overarching goals of the Israel on Campus Coalition is to enhance communication among member organizations, so it was only fitting that the ICC’s Spring Consultation, held in Washington, DC, on June 12, 2008 was filled with opportunities for attendees to discuss the 2007-08 academic year.

Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Interns Spearhead Initiatives on 38 Campuses


Originally created in 2002, the Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Internship is an outstanding opportunity for student leaders to have a profound impact on their campus communities. Grinspoon Interns develop and implement a creative, ongoing, strategic, collaborative and impactful long-term initiative, within one of the Internship’s issue areas, that is designed to change campus Israel culture tangibly.

Examining the “Distancing” of Youth from Israel


The web-based conference about the “Distancing of Young Jewry from Israel” – sponsored by the World Council of Jewish Communal Service – examined Israel engagement models that work best for different age groups (including our work with today’s college students), and participants from around the world had the opportunity to pose questions as well.

The trend toward new avenues of activism mirrors Hillel’s declared mission to make its reach more universal, engaging students as liaisons and hiring Jewish educators who will reach out in less formal ways to more Jewish students on campus.

ICC Awards Israel Advocacy Grants to Students for Exemplary Israel @ 60 Initiatives

Now in its sixth year, the ICC Israel Advocacy Grant program is one of the most impactful campus Israel advocacy initiatives in the country. The ICC Israel Advocacy Grant program attracts creative, influential pro-Israel student leaders who develop bottom-up, grassroots initiatives that address the Israel needs of their campus strategically and in real time.

Hasbara Fellowships: "Israel 360"

"Israel 360" is designed to engage students who know very little about Israel by highlighting exciting components of Israeli history, geography, and culture.

GWU student Harry Baumgarten presented Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni with a solidarity statement supporting Israel as it turns 60 and reaffirming their commitment to raising awareness about Israel on campus through diverse pro-Israel programs.
